Our Ares Direct team chooses a philanthropic cause every few months to support. Typically, we select one that has personal meaning to one or more of our associates. Giving back as a team is a great way to strengthen our relationships and come closer as a group. Most recently, we worked with the Heroes Run, which supports children’s health at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The Heroes Run is an annual event produced by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department along with the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and its foundation. It includes a 5K run, an obstacle course, and a superhero fun run for the kids. The funds raised went to directly to children’s health services at the medical center.

This was a wonderful event for everyone at Ares Direct. Jeremy, our Director of Operations, says, “It was so much fun and a great cause, so our team members were excited to participate. The ability to do something positive together was very rewarding. This was exactly the type of shared experience we want to offer our people so that we can bond.”

Beyond altruism, boosting team morale and strengthening relationships are big parts of the draw of philanthropy. However, there are many other business benefits. For example, giving back leads to new ties with the local community. As such, it is a great tool for both public relations and networking. In short, all business leaders can benefit from incorporating giving back into their culture.

The Heroes Run was a fun and rewarding event for our team.
